As the supermarket employees take cover in a back room, another shopper confronts the man.

He says to him, "I will drop you" before being pushed to the ground and starts screaming for help.

Police say they were called to reports of a fight at the Dublin Road Tesco around 7:30pm on January 20.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a fight involving a number of people in a shop in the Dublin Road area of south Belfast at approximately 7.30pm on Friday January 20.

“Officers attended and a man in his 20s was given advice and guidance over his behaviour.”

The footage has been shared to social media, with tens of thousands of viewers watching the brawl unfold.

Those who left comments were less than impressed with the man's antics and expressed sorry for the employees who got caught up in the scuffle.

One person said: "I feel very sorry for the Tesco staff having to listen to him and his annoying voice and having to put up with his bad behaviour in the first place and it's no wonder that we have problems with shortage of staff in the retail sector when they get verbal abuse on a daily basis."

Someone else said: "My man went from 'I will drop you' to 'GET HIM OFF ME' in 4 seconds."

Another wrote: "So he starts it and then wants to go cry to the police."

A fourth joked: "Clean up on aisle 5."

The Sun has contacted Tesco for comment.
