One huge star has confirmed they will be appearing at Glastonbury this summer.

Following months of speculation over who will be heading to Worthy Farm and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Elton John and Paul McCartney, it's now looking as though two music legends will be on the iconic stage.

Liam Gallagher was asked by a fan if he and Stone Roses' icon John Squire would be taking to the stage. They questioned the star: "Will we see you and Squire at Glastonbury this summer LG?". But Manchester legend Liam is never one to sugarcoat things and responded by saying: "Yeah."

One fan replied: "Liam, do u ever get in trouble, like maybe w the guru, for giving out info too early to us?" As a second penned: "OMG reeeeeaaaallyy?!" "See u at Glastonbury on sea Liam," said a third. Meanwhile, a fourth excited follower penned: "C'maaaannnnn!!!!!!"

The former Oasis star appears to be the first act to be confirmed for the major festival, with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Shania Twain and Coldplay rumoured to be performing. It comes after Liam and John have teamed up for a project. The two heavyweights of Britpop will release their debut studio album together on March 1 following the success of their single, Just Another Rainbow, which was released last month.

Speaking about the collaboration, John previously stated that it will deliver "instantly unforgettable tinged guitar" while also showing the "passion and personality" of Oasis legend Liam. "To me the most obvious take on Just Another Rainbow is that it's about disappointment, and the sentiment is that you never get what you really want," he said.

Squire went on to add: "But I don't like to explain songs, I think that's the privilege of the listener, it's whatever you want it to be. To me, it's also one of the most uplifting tracks we've made together, which is weird. The melodies are mega and then the guitars are a given. But I think even when you take all the f***ing guitars off, you can play the songs all on acoustic and they'll all still blow your mind."

Although this is the first collaboration, they were in the same room when Liam, aged just 16, attended a Stone Roses gig in Manchester which he described as "life-changing". The pair will kick start their tour in Glasgow on March 13, before concluding in Brooklyn, New York, on April 11.

Last year, Liam brought out John at his two Knebworth shows to perform the Oasis anthem, Champagne Supernova, which was released in 1995.
