Who are Dan and Naomi Walmsley?

Dan Walmsley from Shropshire started the The Stone Age Company with his wife.

Dan said: "I love pushing my limits, especially through ultra running.

"I'm all about inspiring people to embrace the outdoors in their own way."

The lessons learned from our time in the wild continue to resonate and weave through our teachings, breathing life into the Stone Age for those eager to explore the essence of survival, resourcefulness, and the profound connection between humans and nature.”

Dan's life and business partner Naomi says she loves teaching "Stone Age stuff, Bushcraft and Forest School to curious minds of all ages."

Speaking about her interests, she explained: "As a mom to two outdoor-loving kids, seven and 12, I'm all about fostering a love for nature.

"When I'm not teaching, you'll find me wandering the countryside, exploring hedgerows for salads, snacks or ingredients for my next balm or salve, in nature’s stash."

Viewers might recognise Dan and Naomi from the Channel 4 documentary Surviving the Stone Age, during which the couple had to survive for a month in the wilderness using only Stone Age tools.

What is The Stone Age Company?

The Stone Age company provides interactive workshops and historical education to primary school children.

With both indoor and outdoor teaching sessions, it offers a hands-on learning experience.

Children get to play with the tools of our ancestors, dress up as cavemen and women — and those brave enough can even chow down on edible bugs.

Dan and Naomi describe The Stone Age Company as "a walking museum, but we’ve removed the glass from the cabinets” — where pupils can “smell, touch and taste the Stone Age with a ‘real’ caveperson”.
