SEVERAL people have been brought to hospital for treatment following a "serious" bus crash in south Dublin.
Gardai and emergency services raced to the scene of the shock incident in the Stillorgan area of Dublin at around 4pm this evening.
The Dublin Bus collision took place on the N11 dual carriageway between the Trees Road Lower and Mount Merrion Avenue junctions.
Images show that the bus mounted the central reservation and knocked over a tree.
The bus driver was injured in the crash and emergency services rushed him to St Vincent’s University Hospital to receive treatment.

However, his injuries are not deemed life-threatening.
Several bus passengers have also been transported to the hospital for medical assessment.
The bus involved in the crash was operating on the 46A route from Dun Laoghaire to the Phoenix Park.
A spokesperson from Dublin Fire Brigade has they are "currently attending a serious road traffic collision".
It added that the National Ambulance Service also sent ambulances and a rapid response doctor.
Two fire engines, an emergency tender from the rescue unit and an ambulance were deployed to the scene from Rathfarnham, Dún Laoghaire and Dolphins Barn fire stations.
Gardai say the section of the N11 where the incident occurred is currently closed with diversions in place.
Local diversions have been put in place and all city bound lanes have been closed.
The DFB has appealed to all road users to avoid the area if possible.
A Garda statement said: "Gardai and emergency services are attending a single-vehicle traffic incident on the N11 in Stillorgan, County Dublin.

"Gardai were alerted when a bus veered off the road and struck a tree around 4 pm today, Friday, January 26th, 2024.
"The bus driver has been taken to St. Vincent’s University Hospital, his injuries are not deemed life-threatening. Several passengers have also been transported to the hospital for medical assessment.
"The road is expected to fully reopen shortly."
Fatal crash
Separately, a dad-of-five who died in a horror crash during Storm Isha has been laid to rest on his birthday,
Jimmy Rowe, 40, passed away in the collision in Mayo on Sunday night.
The father, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene after the car he was driving veered off the N17 at Lisduff in Claremorris.
It is understood Mr Rowe, who was from Longford but was a resident of Tuam, lost his life while travelling home to Co Galway.
Building worker Jimmy lived with his partner in Kilcloghans, outside Tuam in Co Galway.
And mourners gathered at St. Matthew's Church, Ballymahon to pay their respects to the "loving partner and family man" on his birthday.
His heartbroken partner Bernie told the church: "Jimmy had an effect on everyone he met, his smile got him away with everything.
"He was a mummy’s boy, and we're so proud of Catherine and how she took care of all of her family throughout the years.
"I was blessed with having Jimmy as a loving partner, and although our time was short, we’ve made so many happy memories that I will forever cherish.
"Happy birthday Jimmy."
