THE devastated mum of a woman stabbed to death by her psycho partner has told how she begged her daughter to dump the brute just weeks before she was murdered.

Christine Davidson, 48, revealed her last conversation with Emma Baillie, 26, was an argument as she begged her to sever ties with “headcase” Peter Duffy, 47.

Tragically the young mother ignored her pleas and she was found throttled and stabbed to death in a squalid flat.

Evil Duffy hid her body under a pile of clothes and also killed brother John Paul, 51 before he could turn him in.

He also axed his sibling’s pet cat to death.

Anguished Christine, of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, said: “She wouldn’t listen to me about how violent Peter was.

“I have known him my whole life and knew he was a headcase who carried a blade.

"I kept saying, ‘please don’t go with him, he’s too old for you.

“He’s volatile and he’ll just snap.

"But she was just young and didn’t want to listen.

"I wish I’d strangled him — I’d do time but I’d still have my daughter.

“I knew this would end in tears.”

The loved ones last spoke early in March 2022.

Emma had been due to give evidence against the fiend — who was accused of bursting her nose and throwing her downstairs.

But the trial didn’t go ahead after she failed to show in court on the 17th.

Duffy’s murder trial later heard she was “dead for around 12 days” by this point.

Christine recalled: “He wormed his way back into her life.

“On March 31, I saw him at shops but instead of talking he backed away.

“I think he’d killed her by then and couldn’t face me.”

On April 10, cops found Duffy sleeping on a couch at the home of his brother — whose decomposing body was found under a pile of rubbish on another sofa.

Christine told how she heard rumours John Paul had been murdered and headed straight to Duffy’s flat.

She said: “I shouted ‘Emma, Emma’ but there was no answer.”

Two days later cops discovered her body stashed under clothes at the monster’s home.

Tormented Christine said: “Now I know she was just yards away hidden by that animal.

"It makes me sick to my stomach.”

It emerged Duffy removed a ring from Emma’s finger and put it on John Paul’s dead hand — in a possible bid to create an alibi.

We told how “salt of the earth” Emma’s death stunned friends.

Christine added: “She was a fantastic daughter.

"We loved trips to Ayr beach and the park.

“She was happy till she met him.”

Duffy will be sentenced next month
