A royal biographer has claimed that Queen Camilla is more than happy to respect King Charles' boundaries when he's looking after his grandchildren.

Robert Hardman, who wrote 'The Making of a King: King Charles III' and 'The Modern Monarchy', told People: "She [Queen Camilla] wouldn't want to be getting into the King's space with his grandchildren." The 76-year-old, who is a doting mother to two children of her own from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, is happy to spend time with her partner's family - but not at the expense of her own, the author pointed out.

Hardman explained: "She’s not going to push herself. She's still very keen to maintain. She's still got her own family. That’s very important to her, and she appreciates how important it is for him." The monarch spends a huge amount of time with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.

In 2022, William and Kate settled into Adelaide Cottage, previously lived in by Princess Margaret's ex-boyfriend — Peter Townsend. The home is situated near Windsor Castle, giving the King an opportunity to create lots of memories with his family. Hardman said: "Normally, he's often there on a Thursday and a Friday. He's never really had that sort of proximity to the younger family. Now, there's more overlap."

Her son has made a career for himself within the journalism industry, working as a columnist, food writer and broadcaster since 2002. With a passion for food, he makes his views clear in his role as a restaurant critic at the Mail on Sunday. He also works as a food editor at Esquire. Her daughter, who shies away from the limelight, is equally successful, having studied History of Art and marketing at Oxford Brookes University.

Camilla is currently standing by her husband, who's in The London Clinic at Marylebone, receiving medical care for an enlarged prostate. Before going into hospital, Charles' doting wife attended a plethora of solo engagements in Swindon and London, and has since been spending time with her husband by his bedside.
