He also admitted one count of taking an indecent photo of a child.

The father, from Leigh, Greater Manchester, exposed himself twice to two teenage girls as he drove past a bus stop last year and also had a video on his phone of a child getting changed.

The exposure offences were committed just days before his son Eddie and Scarlett Jenkinson's murder trial began on November 27.

The pair stabbed Brianna Ghey, a transgender girl, 28 times after luring her to Culcheth Linear Park, in Warrington, Cheshire, on February 11, 2023.

Kyle Ratcliffe - a truck company manager who previously ran a kickboxing gym in Leigh - was charged with three offences on January 17.

The charges came just two weeks before killers Ratcliffe and Jenkinson were jailed for a minimum of 20 and 22 years respectively.

Prosecuting, Michelle Brown told Manchester Crown Court how on November 22 and 23 last year, Kyle Ratcliffe drove past a bus stop in Salford in his Maserati.

Two 16-year-old girls were there both mornings and as Ratcliffe drove past at around 7.45am he made eye contact with them.

During the incidents, which lasted a "matter of seconds", they saw him masturbating and on the second occasion, one of the girls took a picture of the car and its registration plate.

The incident left their parents furious, the court heard.

After his arrest on December 15, Ratcliffe claimed he had a "medical condition" which meant he may need the toilet at short notice, which caused him to touch his genitals.

When cops seized his phone they found a video - thought to be a few months old - of a teenage girl, between 12-15 years old, being secretly filmed as she got changed.

He claimed he was sent the video on Snapchat.

Further checks of his phone found internet searches relating to "children of school age" and he was arrested on January 16,

At his sentencing on Thursday, judge John Potter told Ratcliffe, appearing via video link from prison, it was "clear" he has a "sexual attraction towards female children and teenagers".

The judge also said his son's sentencing provided "no excuse whatsoever" for the married father's crimes.

Jailing Ratcliffe for 15 months and ordering him to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years, he added: “What you were doing was clearly abusive of your two victims, and will have had a lasting effect upon each of them.

"The truth is, Mr Ratcliffe, you made a deliberate decision to behave in this abusive, risk taking way creating the potential of harm to others."

Ratcliffe was previously handed a suspended prison sentence for masturbating in front of a 16-year-old girl while driving his car in 2008.

At Ratcliffe and Jenkinson’s sentencing hearing, trial judge Mrs Justice Yip imposed reporting restrictions to stop the media revealing Kyle Ratcliffe's offending.

This was in order to avoid prejudice to his case while its outcome remained undetermined.
