McDonald’s fans may be wondering if they’ll still be able to tuck into their favourite Big Mac today, which is a bank holiday.
April 1 is Easter Monday. McDonald’s has roughly 1,300 branches in the UK - and of these, approximately 1,100 are franchised, so they can choose their own hours. This means opening times vary massively across the country.
To be absolutely sure of the opening times of your local store, you should use the McDonald's restaurant locator online tool. Just pop in your postcode and it will bring up your closest branch. But to give you a rough idea, we've search some locations across the country to check when they'll be open.
For example, the Bristol Horsefair restaurant says it is open all this week from 6am until 11pm, so no change in its opening times. The Manchester Oxford Street branch is normally open for 24 hours, and the store finder tool says this will remain the case today. The opening times for the Dalston branch in London are scheduled to be 5am to 2.30am over Easter.
But again, just because these branches don't seem to be changing their opening hours, it doesn't mean some stores won't change their hours, or shut completely. Check online to be sure of when your local will be open. It comes as McDonald's confirmed it is making significant alterations to its burgers.

Fan favourites including the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with cheese and its classic cheeseburger variations including double and triple, will all be getting a taste change for the first time in 50 years. McDonald's said its beef patties will now have "tighter sear" on the grill, and white onions will now be added to the grill on top of the patties as they cook. Staff will now also use fresh lettuce straight from the fridge, while burger lovers can expect a new "buttery" brioche-style buns with a "pillow" texture.
