SHOWING up for work with perfectly styled hair and makeup was always part of the job for Real Housewives of Miami star Guerdy Abraira.

Today, the 45-year-old proudly shows off her shaved head and, after cancer treatment, her body felt at “breaking point” with searing burns on her skin.

Guerdy shared a photo on Instagram on March 28 in which she stood beside her husband, Russell Abraira.

Guerdy wore neutral makeup, and her head was shaved. She had a scar above her right breast.

In an exclusive interview, the Bravo star addressed her hair loss, life-changing scars, and burns from cancer treatment.

But first, Guerdy claimed, when she decided to seize control of the process and shave her head, she felt “carefree" for the first time.

“I knew the hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes would start falling out one chemotherapy session at a time," Guerdy told The U.S. Sun.

“You realize for the first time that this is real life.

"I told myself I would battle so my hair would fall out on my terms.

“I proactively shaved my hair the day before the chemo because I knew I was going into the battle.

“I am keeping my hair like this now because I love it. It feels so carefree.”

The Haitain-born beauty was told she had stage zero breast cancer after a routine mammogram in 2023.

Following a biopsy that uncovered a second invasive 1B stage breast cancer, two surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment followed.

Guerdy had an Oncotype test to show her current rate of getting cancer back within a 10-year mark. She scored high.

The reality TV star claimed her most harrowing ordeal came from the chemotherapy.

“That Oncotype test was when the difficult conversations began,” she said.

“Then the chemo started, and I had bone spasms and bone pain.

It was just me and my skeleton bones feeling at breaking point and trying to make it.

"It felt as if I was walking on my bones. My bones rubbed together like a skeleton.

“Sometimes, my husband had to physically hold me because I felt like I was going to break.

“It was just me and my skeleton bones feeling at breaking point and trying to make it.

“I followed an alternative pattern of getting chemo and staying in bed for seven whole days.

“I waited three weeks until the next round, so I felt like I was dying one week and getting better the next."

Guerdy’s radiation treatment followed chemotherapy. This left her with burns to her skin.

“The chemo does not scar you on the outside, apart from the port, but it was much harder than the radiation," she said.

"I remember thinking, 'Burn me all day. I do not care because the chemo sessions are over.'

Shaving my head was the best thing I have ever done.

Guerdy Abraira

"It looked like extreme sunburn, and I still have marks.

“It is like a big square with a variation ten times darker than the other parts of my body and is dry and flaky.

"I never cover it with makeup for other people's comfort.

“This is my battle, so if it heals perfectly and is fine, no one can notice I had radiation, and that is fine too."

The talented party planner shared her harrowing journey and treatment challenges on Season 6 of RHOM.

She also shared her words of support for Princess Kate amid her own cancer battle.

Guerdy announced at BravoCon in November 2023 that she was cancer-free.

“I'm a party planner, and usually, everything has to be perfect, including my family, me, and everything," she said.

“I live this carefree life now.

"That one hour extra that I could spend doing my hair is one hour I could spend sitting with my kids or talking to my husband.

I get chills when my husband says, 'Wow, you are beautiful.'

“At times, I felt like I could not see the light at the end of the tunnel.

“But shaving my head was the best thing I have ever done.

"I get chills when my husband says, 'Wow, you are beautiful. You have a good head!'

“My beauty comes from within; I do not need to show people any hair.

“Sometimes, I do not wear makeup and have embraced the raw and real me."

Professionally, Guerdy is focused on sharing her cancer story while living her best life.

“My cancer journey has made me look at life from a different perspective,” she said

"I have decided to stay and live naturally for that purpose.

“Even with the water I drink, I decided to become a stakeholder in a water company called Miami Alkaline Water.

“We have hydrogen water, CBD water, and spring water.

“With RHOM, filming has been pushed to the fall, so I will be there if they call me, and I am back in on the cast.

Cancer does not define me, and it never will, but it is not a game.

Guerdy Abraira

“Meanwhile, I will pioneer in sharing the truth and the ugly side of cancer.

“I want to try to eliminate cancer from our existence.

“Sometimes, life throws you curve balls, and you must be ready.

“It has been my strength and the strength of my family that allowed me to win this battle.

"Cancer does not define me, and it never will, but it is not a game.”
