International superstar Dua Lipa was born on August 22, 1995, in London.

She is the eldest of three children.

Her parents are Dukagjin Lipa and Anesa Rexha and her younger siblings are sister Rina and brother Gjin.

Dua grew up in West Hampstead, London, but relocated to Kosovo's capital city Pristina after the country declared its independence from Serbia in February 2008.

She added: "I thanked her, on behalf of all the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, for everything she has done and is making our voice heard everywhere in the world."

Dua responded to the recognition on Instagram, telling her followers: "It's an honour and a privilege to be able to represent my country all over the world and to continue my work and efforts globally to see that we leave our mark and make a difference.

"The youth of Kosovo deserves the right to visa liberalization, freedom to travel, and to dream big."

At the time her honorary ambassadorship was announced, Dua was in Kosovo to perform at the Sunny Hill Festival in the capital Pristina.

The festival is a music event that was founded by Dua and her father.

The singer told the audience at the 2022 Sunny Hill press conference: "I want to send love to all the youth of Kosovo, and I want to say no matter how big your dream is, you can achieve anything that you want, if you put your mind to it.

"I truly do believe that, I am here to support you in whatever way."
