Charlotte Dawson fears her eight-month-old son Jude could develop breathing problems after a near fatal health scare when he was just a few weeks old.

The 31-year-old, who is the daughter of late great comic Les Dawson, was terrified when her youngest son was rushed into hospital as a baby and kept in for six days when he contracted Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Bronchitis.

Doctors told Charlotte and her rugby player husband-to-be Matt Sarsfield, 32, who also share three-year-old son Noah, that if they had brought little Jude in a day later he could have died. So when he was rushed into hospital for a second time last month when the virus returned, the pair were understandably panicked.

Writing on Instagram, Charlotte said: "Another scary little moment with our cherub but he is on the mend. Thank god & so happy to be reunited with his big brother... the love they have for each other is everything we are so lucky & blessed. Bronchitis/RSV really needs to be talked about more!! From when he was last in hospital with it all 7 weeks I saw the difference in him now at 7 months being able to fight it off quicker & he is stronger and older.. but now his chest & breathing are still really bad. It's so scary really is..."

Though Jude is now safely back at home and doing well, Charlotte said in an interview with New! magazine she worries for his future. Speaking about his health scares, she shared: “I worry he’s going to struggle with his breathing now or he might have asthma. Jude was in hospital with wires everywhere and an oxygen mask on. Seeing him like that just broke my heart, even though he was in the best place possible. I didn’t know anything about RSV, but they told me at the hospital he could have died if I hadn’t brought him in.”

RSV Bronchiolitis is a viral chest infection that affects babies and children under two years of age and can be easily spread by coughs and sneezes, according to the . Celebs Go Dating star Charlotte said she had “no idea” about the common condition until doctors told her about it.

When Jude first got sick, Charlotte thought he was suffering the effects of a cold, but they rushed him to hospital when he started turning blue and having difficulty breathing. She explained: “It’s crazy how common this RSV virus is, this Bronchiolitis. So many people have been in same boat and it’s like everybody said, it’s just not spoken about at all. I didn’t really know anything about it. I didn’t realise the effects of it or anything and so many people have been in the same situation as me. The doctors saying that it’s a cold and stuff and using our mother’s instinct and just knowing that our babies are aren’t right and getting here in the right time.”
