STEVE Irwin's lookalike son Robert has stunned the crowds at Melbourne Fashion Festival as he stepped on the runway for the first time.

Robert Irwin, 20, swapped his conservationist khaki uniform for an elegant black tux as he made his modelling debut.

He appeared in high spirits as he playfully posed in a dapper, all-black ensemble, styled with a tweed bomber jacket.

It was quickly followed by a dazzling white tuxedo with a black blazer and waistcoat.

The conservationist showcased his fashion flair at the runway with a blue monochromatic look in a velvet suit paired with white turtleneck and white shoes.

Robert donned outfits by the likes of Tomba, Godwin and Dom Bagnato at the Glam Up Runway - highlighting work of Aussie designers.

The wildlife warrior was all smiles on the catwalk amid his breakup with girlfriend, Rorie Buckey.

The couple recently announced their shock split in an Instagram post after almost two years of dating.

Along with new modelling career, Robert is gearing up to become a TV personality as he is set to host I'm a Celebrity for the 2024 series.

He will replace longtime host Dr Chris Brown from next season, TV Blackbox reports.

His dedication to conservation, no doubt inspired by his late father Steve Irwin, has melted the hearts of the nation and makes him an obvious choice for the South Africa-based show.

His co-host, Julia Morris, 55, supported his modelling debut at the event and showed up in an elegant navy blue suit and corset.

The two seemed to get along as they smiled cheerfully for photographers with their arms linked.

The son of "the crocodile hunter" has been in front of the cameras since he was a boy, even once appearing as a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

But despite his newfound fame on TV, Robert has continued the epic legacy of his father Steve.

As well as looking strikingly similar to his dad, Robert also gets up close and personal with crocodiles.

During one terrifying encounter, Robert was nearly eaten by a ferocious crocodile after the fearless teen jumped into its enclosure.

He had to run for his life when the huge Saltwater crocodile lunged for him after snubbing the huge chunks of meat he was offering at Australia Zoo.

He is no stranger to the reptiles - as dad Steve held him in his arms with feeding a saltwater crocodile when he was just one month old.
