The tweet said: “Burna Boy and J Hus’ joint EP is said to be released later this year, it will consist of 7 songs including 'City Boys' and will have guest appearance from Koffee.”

The EP is expected to feature Koffee, a Jamaican singer-songwriter who achieved success in 2018 with her hit single Toast.

Burna Boy's official X handle added a finger-point emoji, and in response, J Hus' Twitter account also quoted the tweet with the same finger-point emoji.

Fans took to social media to share their excitement for the potential collaboration, with one saying: “That’s summer sorted.”

Another added: “Can’t wait cos every Burna X J Hus always hits."

A third chimed in: “So finally we are having this!"

Can’t wait for my favourite to drop with koffee including," said a fourth.

Over the years the duo have collaborated a number of times on various albums and tracks together, most notably on the song Play Play.

Most recently, Burna Boy, 32, featured on the song Masculine from J Hus’ album Beautiful and Brutal Yard, which was a celebration of the duo’s collaboration together.

Burna Boy teased the possibility of a collaborative project with London rapper, 27, in an interview back in 2022.

This was after releasing his album Love, Damini, which featured J Hus on the track Cloak & Dagger.

The pair performed to a sold- out crowd at London Stadium last year - J Hus’ first live appearance in three years.

J Hus made his music comeback in 2020 after he was sentenced to eight months in jail for carrying a knife outside a shopping centre in Westfield in 2018.

The UK rapper plead guilty to possession of a knife after telling police he had it because "it’s Westfield”.

In July of last year, he returned after a three-year break with the release of his album Beautiful and Brutal Yard.

The album which featured a star-studded line up of collaborators, including Burna Boy.

As fans await for the release of the joint EP, they will be hoping for a guest appearance from J Hus on Burna Boy's June return to London following his European tour which kicks off next month.
