Former President and businessman Donald Trump has demanded President Joe Biden debate him before November’s hotly anticipated general election.
While Trump has not participated in any 2024 Republican primary debates, he issued the challenge during a campaign rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in line with the state’s presidential primary elections.
“I’m calling on Crooked Joe to debate any time, any place. We’ll do it any way you want, Joe, so that we can discuss, in a friendly manner, the real problems of our country, which are many," Trump proclaimed.

Biden has not yet definitively committed to debating Trump this election cycle, telling reporters last month that “it depends on his behavior.” Controversial behavior is something Trump has regularly come under fire for.
After holding a rally Tuesday afternoon in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Trump further criticized Biden in Wisconsin for marking Trans Visibility Day on Easter Sunday, despite the day commemorating the transgender community always falling on March 31.
“Nov. 5 is going to be called something else. You know what it’s going to be called? Christian Visibility Day, when Christians turn out in numbers that nobody has ever seen before,” Trump declared.

Transgender Day of Visibility falls on the same day every year (Anadolu via Getty Images)Trump won Wisconsin over Hillary Clinton in 2016 by less than a percentage point, 47% to 46.5%, or 23,000 votes but four years later, Biden won it by an even smaller margin, 49.5% to 49%, or 21,000 voters. Previously, Biden has had problems appealing to minority and younger voters but he has improved his standing with seniors, a development that seems to have frightened Trump.
“Unlike Biden and the open borders Democrats, I will always protect Medicare and Social Security for our great seniors,” Trump said in his party's defense.
According to RealClearPolitics, Trump has, on average, a less than a point advantage over Biden in Wisconsin eight months out from the election, 48% to 47.5%,
