Danielle Lloyd has alarmed her fans by revealing she has been hospitalised and undergone a mystery surgery.
The 40-year-old mum-of-five sparked alarm on Wednesday morning when she took to social media to share a photograph of herself wearing a hospital gown - and later explained she had been waiting to be operated on. The initial shot showed the lower half of Danielle’s body as she sat waiting for her surgery. She was wearing a pair of purple, fluffy slippers, and black tights as well as her hospital gown.
She showed off the shot - with the laminated floor and wooden legs of a chair visible - and added an animated emoji of a hospital surgeon putting on some latex gloves. She then shared a second image five hours later and explained that she had undergone surgery - but did not elaborate why she needed the procedure.
Her second image - shared via Instagram Stories - showed that Danielle was in a hospital bed and wrapped up under a light mint-coloured blanket. She had a hospital ID tag around her wrist and an IV drip attached to her hand. She was also gripping a piece of medical equipment - which may be designed to help her administer pain-relief.

In an upbeat-sounding message, she wrote alongside the image: “Alive and well after surgery thanks for all your lovely messages.” She added red heart emojis to the note.

While it is unclear why Danielle needed surgery, she has previously expressed regret over going under the knife for cosmetic reasons. She admitted to GB News in 2022: “Well, obviously, it's helped my career massively, because I was on the front page of Zoo and Nuts and all the rest of them. So it's obviously helped me with that. But, you know, I wish I would have waited, because I've got a lot of scars.”
She added at the time: “And I think when you've had kids, everything seems to go south. So I wish I was getting it done now and not back then.” Danielle shares sons Archie, 13, George, 12, and Harry, 10, with her footballer ex-husband, Jamie O'Hara, and is also mum to Ronnie, six, and two-year-old Autumn Rose, who she shares with husband Michael O'Neill.
In July last year, Danielle was rushed to hospital after experiencing heavy bleeded - with doctors subsequently discovering cysts on both ovaries, and thickening in the lining of her womb. She was eventually told she had adenomyosis and underwent surgery known as endometrial ablation - where the lining of the womb is removed. She also opted for surgery that left her unable to have any more children.
Discussing her choice with Close magazine, she said: “The idea of not having the option to have another child is hard to come to terms with. I would have liked for Autumn to have a little sister, but I am grateful to have five healthy children, and maybe this is God’s way of saying, “You’ve had enough now”.’
