A STRANGER Things star has his sights set on a Glastonbury performance after the viral success of his track.

Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington in the hit sci-fi Netflix drama, is keen to play the biggest festivals in the world as his solo project Djo.

His track End of Beginning has been a viral success on TikTok, propelling it into the top five of the UK singles charts - two years after its initial release.

The 31-year-old has bold ambitions for his live shows having been forced to abandon performing during the coronavirus pandemic when his second album, Decide, was released.

Speaking to Radio X's Dan O'Connell, he said: "We played a couple shows here and there, but it's a big bucket list item for me to kind of fully realise these things I thought up in my bedroom that I really wanted to do visually on a big stage."

The show host suggested both Coachella and Glastonbury could now be on the cards in 2025.

To which the American actor and musician responded: "Oh you're spoiling me!"

Stranger Things' creators announced in January that season five, which is currently in production, will be the last.

Matt and Ross Duffer said in an open letter: "Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but—as you’ll see for yourselves—we are now hurtling toward our finale.”

It means Joe will be freed up to devote more time to his music once it's complete.

He said: "So... although it will be sad the show ending it will open up the schedule and will mean I can think about that a little bit more seriously."

The actor first released music under the Djo moniker in 2019, having previously been the drummer for psych-rock band Post Animal.

And new music is imminent with album number three close to being complete.

Joe explained: "Yeah I'm pretty much done recording it almost. Basically I stopped doing [Decider], it came out and then I pretty much started working on something straight away.

"I've been kind of cooking as this has been going on and now this song has popped and it's kinda at a funny time, because where I'm at with this next album is sort of already kind of set in stone. So it'll be interesting to see how this new stuff goes over given everything that's gone on."
