Bill Belichick, the legendary coach who is currently without a team, is being pursued by his old rival Peyton Manning and his entertainment company, Omaha Productions.

Belichick, who will be 72 next month, has been out of work since leaving the New England Patriots after 24 years. He had talks with the Atlanta Falcons about becoming their head coach, but they chose Raheem Morris instead. Belichick, who has won the Super Bowl eight times, hasn't spoken to any other teams even though some have vacancies for a head coach or in their front office. With no jobs left, this is the first time in many years that Belichick is not part of the league.

Unless he's open to joining another coaching team, broadcasting could be a good way for him to stay involved in football. It could fill the gap while he waits for the right football job to come up, as he showed he's still interested in coaching when he spoke to the Falcons.

This has made people in the league think that Belichick wants to keep going in the hope of becoming the most successful coach ever. When he left the Patriots, he was just 14 wins away from beating Don Schula's record of 347 wins in both the regular season and playoffs.

The famous Sports Emmy award-winner has had a history in broadcasting. He earned an award in 2021 for his expert analysis while working on the " NFL 100 All-Time Team" series for NFL Films and NFL Network. According to The Athletic, one of many job offers waiting for Belichick is Manning's, who has already held meetings with CBS and NBC.

ESPN, closely working with Omaha Productions including its "Manningcast" alternative telecasts for "Monday Night Football" games, is said to also be interested in inviting Belichick. A planned alternate broadcast involving Belichick and newly retired Alabama coach Nick Saban who recently joined "College GameDay" as an analyst, is rumoured.

However, based on his past talks, some believe that the currently without club coach has no desire to join a studio show every Sunday of the season. CBS and NBC are reportedly considering adding more members to their desks. Joining forces with Manning seems to be most exciting for all. Belichick did once dub him "definitely the best quarterback I've coached against" during a chat with the Boston Globe in 2021.

Over the years, Belichick and Manning faced off 20 times, with Belichick winning 12 of those games. However, Manning had the final victory, defeating the Patriots in the 2015 AFC Championship game to reach Super Bowl 50, which his team, the Denver Broncos, won. This was Manning's last game.

Manning's Indianapolis Colts also played against Belichick's New England in the 2003 and 2006 AFC Championship games. Each team won one game, and the winner of each game went on to win the Super Bowl that year.
