ADRIEN BRODY'S UNCOMFORTABLE KISS

When Adrien Brody was presented with the Best Actor award for The Pianist in 2003, his acceptance was anything but normal.

The ecstatic 50-year-old raced on to stage and pulled in Halle Berry, who announced him as the winner, with an extremely passionate kiss.

The forced smooch, which lasted for around four seconds, left the actress, now 57, in shock and Adrien yelling “Oh my god” as he finally let her go.

In the crowd, Hollywood legends Jack Nicholson, Richard Gere, and Nicolas Cage laughed and smiled - but for Halle it was a different story.

On a 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, she explained the kiss “was not planned” and she “knew nothing about it” ahead of time.

Halle said, “I was like, ‘What the f**k is happening right now?’...I know the feeling of being out of your body I just f**king went with it.”

JENNIFER LAWRENCE'S FALL

Not all the shocking moments at the Oscars are deliberate - in fact some are down to sheer clumsiness... as Jennifer Lawrence can attest.

The Hunger Games actress, 31, won the award for Best Actress in 2013 for her work in Silver Linings Playbook and while on her way to collect it, she tripped on the stairs and fell.

Despite some stars claiming she faked it, including Jared Leto, she insists the whole thing was real and that walking up steps in a ballgown is hard.

Talking about the incident, she said, “It was so devastating because it was this horrific humiliation to me.”

Jennifer said the fall came about after she forgot to kick out the fabric away from her feet as she walked up to the stage.

HUGH GRANTS INTERVIEW

Ashley Graham deserved a special award of her own, after her uncomfortable interview with Hugh Grant at last year's Academy Awards.

The model tried to ask the Notting Hill star about the ceremony, but Hugh apparently wasn't in a sharing mood.

In a clip from the interview shared online, fans watched as Ashley asked about his favorite thing at the Oscars, to which he answered, "Well, it's fascinating...the whole of humanity is here."

Ashley then tried again, asking Hugh what he was most excited to see at the show.

The actor seemed confused at first, ultimately answering that he wasn't excited to see any presentation or film win an award.

Seemingly clutching at straws, Graham asked Grant what brand of tuxedo he was wearing Sunday evening.

Grant simply replied, "Just my suit," the actor continued, before deadpanning, "I can't remember my tailor."

BRADLEY AND GAGA SIZZLE IN THE SHALLOW

Rumors had already been building up to the 2019 Oscars that pop sensation Lady Gaga and Hollywood hottie Bradley Cooper were an item.

It followed their romantic performances in A Star Is Born, which follows two musicians who fall in love and later face relationship struggles after they both become famous.

The pair reunited at the ceremony to sing Shallow, and shared a number of tender moments, including walking to the stage hand in hand and getting incredibly close.

The emotional pair snuggled closely while serenading each other and brushed faces in a moment that many believed would lead to a kiss.

Gaga and Bradley both denied any claims of an off-screen romance, but just a few months later, Bradley and his long time love Irina Shayk announced their breakup.

THE SLAP HEARD AROUND THE WORLD

Perhaps no moment will ever top the awkwardness that followed after Will Smith stormed the stage in 2022 and physically slapped Chris Rock.

Chris was there to hand out an award, but the comedian had to open with a few quips of his own - including one comparing Will's wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, who has alopecia, to G.I. Jane because of her short hair.

Moments after Chris made the joke, Will stormed on stage, struck him and yelled: “Keep my wife’s name out your f**king mouth.”

After the confrontation, a stunned Chris said, "Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me."

Later, Will was back on stage, in tears, accepting the Best Actor award for King Richard.

He opened his acceptance speech with a tense voice, explaining, "Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family."

The actor fought back tears throughout his speech, which, while dedicated to Venus and Serena's father, suddenly seemed to take on a different meaning.

"I want to apologize to the academy," he said toward the end of his speech. "I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees."

"Art imitates life, I look like the crazy father, just like what they said about Richard Williams.

"But love will make you do crazy things."
