Conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel have been praised by fans for sharing a bikini snap after news broke of their surprise wedding.
The twins, 34, first shot to fame back in 1996 when they appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show with their parents to discuss their rare condition. Abby and Brittany are dicephalus conjoined twins, which is partial twinning with two heads on one torso, sharing a bloodstream while Abby controls their right arm and leg, and Brittany controls the left side.
In a snap on Instagram, the twins were praised for posing in a bikini in a sweet snap taken with their mother, which Abby and Brittany simply captioned: “summer”. Rocking a pale blue bikini top and a pair of neon orange bikini bottoms, the twins looked happy and relaxed as they smiled for the camera, and their followers were overjoyed to see them enjoying themselves. “So pretty,” one commented,” as another added: “You two you women always look so beautiful.”

In the picture, the twins can be seen wearing a wedding dress while Josh stands before them in a grey suit. But in a bizarre twist, Brittany, who shares a body with Abby, was not listed as a witness to the wedding, according to TMZ.

Fans flocked to the comments of the bikini snap to also send their congratulations to the happy couple, with one writing: “Congrats Abby, good for you for keeping it a secret, I'm looking forward to seeing what married life brings for you!” Another follower posted: “I wish you lots of love, peace and light! Congratulations to the twin who married! May God bless your lives! You are beautiful!”

The twins have since shunned the spotlight to become teachers in Minnesota, and have not yet commented on the reports of Abby’s marriage. Back in 2001, their parents Patty and Mike spoke to Time magazine about their twin daughters, and said doctors suggested they separate the twins when they were born, but it was unlikely both girls would have survived.
“How could you pick between the two?” Mike exclaimed. He then spoke about his daughters growing up and finding love, and hoped that their condition wouldn’t stand in the way of them settling down. “They're good-looking girls. They're witty. They've got everything going for them, except they're together,” he explained.
