Omid Scobie has spoken out after the Princess of Wales addressed the intense speculation over her Mother's Day photo.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the royal author slammed Kensington Palace after Princess Kate's picture faced accusations it had been heavily edited. The family snap, which was released on Sunday, is the first official image of the Princess of Wales since she underwent abdominal surgery in January.
Omid said: "It's fair to say that most photos released by the offices of public figures have been retouched in some way, so as an isolated incident this is just an unfortunate error. But with the Palace's long history of lying, covering up, and even issuing statements on behalf of family members without their permission (cc: Prince Harry), it's becoming increasingly difficult for the public to believe a word (and now photo) they share.

"Gaining that back at this point is an almost impossible task." His comments come after he also suggested the Prince and Princess of Wales need to hire a new communications team following intense scrutiny of Kate's latest snap.
Prince William secretly took Kate on 007-style Aston Martin test drive"Wonder what it would be like if they had a good comms team," he wrote. Commenting on Omid's post, one fan joked: "Would love to be a fly on the wall," while another blasted: "No one talented wants to work there." A third fan insisted: "Omid, they need a good Photoshop department," while someone else said: "I know the Buckingham Palace comms team is having a good laugh."
The Princess of Wales has been forced to speak out after she was accused of heavily editing her photo. In a statement shared on X, she said: "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.
"I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C."
Fans thanked Princess Kate for her statement and offered their well wishes. "No need at all for apologies. Hope you had a lovely day yourself with the children. Get well soon!" one person commented.
Another follower said: "Thank you for sharing your family photo and for letting us know that you are recovering well," while a third added: "It was a beautiful photo and all the hub-bub about it is silly! I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s day!"
