DARK has been a huge hit with thriller fans since it landed on our screens back in 2017.
Actor Louis Hofmann takes the lead role in the German-language drama.

Dark is a German science fiction thriller drama series created by Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese.
It tells the story of a German town called Winden which is shocked by a child’s mysterious disappearance.
The series focuses on four estranged families connected by their secrets and contains science fiction and fantasy elements.

Louis Hofmann
Louis plays the lead role of teen Jonas Kahnwald in the Netflix series.
The actor rose to fame as the lead in the 2011 German film Tom Sawyer.
He won the Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a teenage German prisoner of war in the 2015 Danish film Land of Mine.
Oliver Masucci
Oliver Masucci plays the role of Ulrich Nielsen in the series.
He is best known for his role as Adolf Hitler in the 2015 film adaptation of the satirical novel Look Who's Back.
He also starred in Anton Vogel in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
Jördis Triebel
Jördis is a German film and stage actress.
She received international attention for her portrayal of Katharina Nielsen in the 2017 Netflix series Dark.
She has also had supporting roles in the Netflix series Babylon Berlin (2017) and The Empress (2022).

Maja Schöne
Maja plays the role of Hannah Kahnwald in the thriller.

Where was Dark filmed?
Sadly, Winden is not a real town.
Show creator Friese said: "It’s a fictional town. We deliberately wanted that because we didn’t want to colour it with a specific Bavarian or northern German setting.
"We wanted it to be somewhere that could be everywhere."

The series was mainly filmed in and around Berlin with some locations including Saarmund, Tremsdorf and Potsdam-Mittelmark in Brandenburg.
Friese continued: "We actually shot in Berlin.
"Actually, once you go a few minutes from the city centre, Berlin basically becomes a village.
"We picked various different places: a house here, a house there. But all the locations are shot around Berlin."
Director Odar said that the forest served as the perfect backdrop for Dark's ominous atmosphere.
"The forest is about an hour away from the city centre," he said. "The soil here is very dry, so you get a lot of coniferous, long straight trees. They feel for me very creepy, like a fairytale forest.
"I love those long straight trees – they’re like jail bars. Visually it’s very interesting."

All three seasons are available to watch on Netflix.
The series is in German but can be subtitled into English.
Dark debuted on Netflix on December 1 2017; it was the service's first German-language original series.
The second season was released on June 21 2019, while the final season was released on June 27 2020.
