OLIVIA Attwood has showcased how she gets the perfect claw clip up ‘do every time.

However, the telly personality, 32, prefaced that the dirtier your hair is for the style, the better.

Taking to social media, Olivia shared a tutorial on how she fits her head-full of extensions into a single claw clip.

“There’s loads of ways to do this but this just works for me,” she said.

“My hair is too clean and too straight for this really today but I didn’t want to forget about making the video.

“Hair goes up into a pony and then pull it through half way.”

Olivia gets her extensions from Beauty Works, a brand loved by fellow influencers Molly-Mae Hague and Zara McDermott.

The brand’s ‘Olivia Attwood Edit’ has 12 items listed, including extensions, a restorative mask and curling wand.

Due to the weight of the faux hair, tying it up before adding a claw clip will help the style stay in place and alleviate pulling on the scalp.

Once the hair is in a half ponytail, she twists the bottom end and wraps it around the part that hasn’t been pulled through her hair band.

Olivia secures the “wrap around” style in place with a cheap Amazon claw clip.

“Literally search, ‘large claw clip’, I think,” she said.

“And then literally just ram it all in… that’s what she said.

“You can pull little bits out and fluff it up so it looks really natural and like you just did it in 30 seconds, when actually it took 15 tries.”

Despite the tutorial, Olivia typically wears her hair down as a Loose Women panellist and on her new podcast, So Wrong It’s Right.

Why is Dirty Hair Better for Up ‘Dos?

Styling dirty hair often yields better results - namely because it has more grip and texture compared to freshly washed hair.

When hair hasn't been washed recently, it retains its natural oils.

These oils can help weigh down the hair slightly, making it less prone to flyaways and frizz, while also adding enough texture for volume.

By contrast, clean hair can sometimes be too smooth and slippery, making it difficult for certain styles and to keep hair accessories in place.

Dirty hair provides a bit more friction, making it easier to work with and style.
