A CAR expert has urged drivers to look up six powerful motors that can be picked up for less than £10,000 - including a luxury Lexus.

Jonny Brighton, who runs the motoring YouTube channel CarsWithJB, has revealed a range of budget bombshells that boast at least 400 bhp, showing you can get plenty of bang for your buck.

In the video, Jonny first picked the gorgeous Lexus LS600H, adding: “It's always nice to get a luxury car into one of these lists and we're going right to the top of the Lexus food chain with this one."

The stylish motor is described as a proper full-size luxury saloon that was apparently built as the brand's answer to the Mercedes S-Class.

It comes with a 5-litre V8 engine which includes electric power to make a combined 439 bhp, taking it to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds.

Jonny said: "The reason for having all that engine is that it's never put under insane levels of stress, so you can waft along in real luxury."

Being a passenger in this classy set of wheels is a particular treat, as the LS600H has amazing executive-style rear seats with plenty of legroom - and they even come heated and cooled.

The car nut revealed that this motor was the single most expensive saloon car produced in Japan at the time, although potential buyers can pick it up for around £7,000 these days, while £10k will get you into a 2007 model with 92,000 miles on the clock.

For a decent alternative to the Lexus, Jonny points to the Audi S8 - which has a greater focus on performance and sportiness.

Its 5.2-litre V10 engine produces 443 bhp which can hit 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds, and it can be bought for around £7,800 - while £10k is likely to be enough to get you a high-mileage 2007 model.

When it comes to power, a lot of drivers tend to think of the Range Rover as the perfect balance of horse power and comfort.

That's why Jonny's next pick is the first generation Range Rover Sport, that comes packed with a massive 5-litre supercharged V8 engine to make 502 bhp - taking it to 60 mph in six seconds.

Regarding what you might be able to get for your cash, Jonny said: "An autobiography spec is possible for under £10k, and you're getting yourself a super luxurious and reasonably fast SUV for the money."

He added that £9,000 will get you one at the bottom end, while £10k is good enough for a 2010 model with 80,000 miles on it.

Another cool SUV that packs plenty of bite for a reasonable price is the beastly Mercedes ML63 AMG.

Jonny said: "One of the greatest engines that has come out of Mercedes AMG is the 6.2-litre V8 that you find in multiple 63 AMGs of the late 2000s and early 2010s.

"It has to be one of the best-sounding European V8s, if not one of the best sounding V8s of all-time."

The cheapest car you can buy second hand with that engine in it is the ML63 AMG, an early performance SUV with enough horsepower to reach 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.

On the expected price, Jonny said: "You'll need to spend a minimum of around £8,000, while £10k will get you a 2007 model with 100k miles on it."

For something a bit more streamlined, petrolheads can look to the Jaguar XFR - an executive saloon built to compete with cars like the BMW 335i.

The Jag shares its engine with the Range Rover Sport - hence the specs are similar with the 5-litre supercharged V8 making 502 bhp that takes it to 60 mph is an eye-watering 4.7 seconds.

Described as "a pretty well sought after exotic car", this motor set you back at least £9,000 with your £10k getting you behind the wheel of a 2010 model.

Jonny's final motor is the luscious Porsche Cayenne Turbo S - a super-quick SUV that's built around a 4.5-litre twin turbocharged V8 that makes 521 bhp.

Porsche's first V8 since the 928 was phased out in 1995 and of course the brand's first ever SUV, today these can be bought for as little as £7,000 with as much as £10k enough to pick up a 2006 model that's done 100,000 miles.

Meanwhile, car fans in the market for a brand new EV SUV might be interested in Fisker's flagship model that's seen its price cut by £15,000.

This comes as Rowan Atkinson’s ultra-rare 200 mph supercar goes up for sale – with just 3,000 miles on the clock.
