One of Christian Horner's closest friends and allies has revealed the current state of the under-fire Red Bull boss' marriage to Spice Girl Geri Halliwell with a two-word remark, saying: "Everything’s fantastic."

It's been a tough few months for the artist formerly known as Ginger Spice, 51, and Christian, thanks to the racing boss being accused of harassment. The dad-of-two, 50, was last month cleared of accusations of harassment made against him by a female employee by an internal inquiry.

But just hours on from Horner being cleared, alleged flirtatious WhatsApps said to have been exchanged between Horner, the Red Bull team principal, and a female employee circulated on social media after the hundreds of screenshots were initially sent to 149 members of the F1 community.

Geri, who married Horner in 2015, has been standing by her man - flying out to Bahrain ahead of the opening grand prix in the Gulf kingdom in March as the alleged flirty texts landed online. Now, Horner's long-time friend has spoken out about the drama and what the future looks like for Horner and Geri.

Bernie Ecclestone, the former Formula One chief that brought Horner into the sport to head up the then new Red Bull team in 2005, claims the scandal that begin back in February is beginning to calm and things are good between Look At Me singer Geri and embattled team principal Horner.

Speaking to the MailOnline, 93-year-old Ecclestone declared: "It’s peace in our time. And Christian informs me everything’s fantastic with Geri." Ecclestone's comments come as it's reported the female employee who accused Horner has lodged an appeal regarding her dismissed complaint and has allegedly hired an American legal firm to fight her case.

Red Bull exonerated Horner from any misconduct as of Wednesday 28th February. Red Bull Austria, the team's parent company, announced: "The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.

"The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards."

Earlier that month, Red Bull's parent organisation declared: "After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation. This process, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister. The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time."
