The UK is full of ridiculously beautiful beaches, but there's one sandy shore that's proving particularly popular with holidaymakers.

Bournemouth Beach has been ranked as the UK's best beach on Tripadvisor, impressing visitors with its colourful beach huts, golden sands, and swim-friendly waters. In fact if you want to take a dip, the bays boast some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK!

The seaside resort actually boasts seven miles of award-winning beaches, lined with promenades packed with fish and chip shops, arcades, ice cream parlours and plenty of brilliant bars and restaurants.

You don't need to break the bank to visit either, with plenty of budget-friendly accommodation on offer. For example, you can find hotel stays from £40 a night with Kayak, while HolidayCottages has plenty of gorgeous homes available for week-long stays. Premier Inn and Travelodge also have a number of hotels in the area, and you can sometimes find rooms from as little as £35 a night when the budget chains host flash sales.

There are also beach huts that can be hired if you're looking to maximise your time on those golden sands, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the British coast.

Bournemouth Beach is also home to a picturesque pier, and boasts plenty of family-friendly zones with fun games for kids (sandcastle competition, anyone?). Wheelchair users can also head to the Bournemouth Beach office where there are beach accessible wheelchairs available - just get in touch ahead of time especially if you're planning a trip during the busier summer months.

With its soft sands and blue waters, it's no surprise that the beach has been proving a hit with holidaymakers for decades - and judging by the Tripadvisor reviews, it's still a firm favourite.

One happy holidaymaker wrote: "Omg, what a spectacular beach. Beautiful golden sands and miles long. As spring, weather not perfect beach weather but sunny day, dogs loving the beach and very relaxing walk along great promenade. Best beach in UK."

Another added: "Nice clean beach lovely to relax and go for nice long walks - bike hire also available and restaurants on beach front. Great escape."

However, some visitors did warn that when it's busy, it can get littered quickly. One visitor explained: "A beautiful beach but once actually sat down, there's endless amounts of lighters, cigarette buts, and bits of rubbish. It'd be so much better if it was cleaner. However the fairground rides were great and some really nice restaurants and bars surrounding beach and nearby."

Of course a gorgeous beach with clear waters is always going to be popular, so be warned that on those rare days where the British weather is actually hot and sunny, it can get pretty busy! Still, there are plenty of Blue Flag beaches along the coast including Alum Chine, Durley Chine, Fisherman's Walk, Manor Steps and Southbourne, so you'll be spoiled for choice.
