Donald Trump has shown support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr in a bizarre speech as it appears the former president and his associates are trying to give the independent candidate a boost.
Sharing a video on his Truth Social site, Trump also slammed Democrats as "vicious fascists" and repeated his name-calling of Joe Biden as he dubbed the president "crooked" again. Trump said: "RFK Jr is, as you know, the most radical left candidate in the race. He's more so than the Green Party, more so than even crooked Joe Biden, but he's got some nice things about him, I happen to like him.
"Unfortunately he is about the Green News scam, because he believes in that and a lot of people don't. They want to see our country become rich and wealthy and strong and powerful and lots of other things and not waste money doing something that nobody wants."

Trump then goes on to talk about how the Democrats were "very hard" on RFK Jr. He said: "The communists will make it very hard on him, as they did when he was a Democrat, he wanted to get on the ballot they made it very difficult for him, they really went after him viciously just like they do to me. Welcome to the crowd RFK Jr.
"But the fact is that the Democrats are vicious communist fascists, they're horrible people. They really hurt him badly what they did to him. That's why he's running as an independent."

He went on: "But expect him to be indicted any day now, probably for environmental fraud. He is crooked Joe Biden's political opponent, not mine. Biden can't speak, Biden can't put two sentences together. So I guess he's probably going to indict RFK Jr."
Republicans believe Trump's strategy to give RFK Jr a boost could help the former president in the race. Shermichael Singleton, a Republican strategist who has worked on three presidential campaigns, told The Hill: "Trump is smart to prop him up. He knows that Kennedy pulls more from Biden, and he knows if he can get on the ballot, he will absolutely have an impact."

Political observers believe the voter turnout in this November's presidential election will be low because of two candidates who are unpopular with many. It's expected that some people will consider voting alternatively to the Republican and Democrat nominees, and RFK Jr is currently polling ahead of all the other third-party candidates.
