Clint Eastwood made a rare public appearance at a speaking engagement hosted by famed animal lover, Jane Goodall.

The 93-year-old was spotted sitting at the Sunset Cultural Centre in his hometown Carmel-by-the-Sea, California speaking to Jane. The two stars sat in matching chairs in the pictures taken on March 24.

Jane wore black slacks and a black long-sleeved shirt with a multicoloured shawl around his shoulders. Her silver hair was pulled back in a ponytail as she was snapped looking at Clint as he talked.

The event, Reasons for Hope, was part of Jane's 90th Birthday Tour presented by the Wildlife Conservation Network - a milestone birthday she celebrated earlier this month. The Dirty Harry star sat in the front row during the event and also hung out backstage with Jane before the event.

Clint turns 94 at the end of next month. But his age isn't stopping him from continuing his work in Hollywood.

He's currently working on a film, Juror No. 2, that stars Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette. Clint is directing and producing the upcoming courtroom drama flick.

For his directing, he's won two Academy Awards. His first directorial Oscar was in 1993 for the film Unforgiven and the second was in 2005 for Million Dollar Baby - both films also won Best Picture that year and Clint was nominated for Best Actor for both films but lost to Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman and Jamie Foxx in Ray respectively.

Clint has been nominated for Best Director for Mystic RIver (2004) and Letters from Iwo Jima (2007). Both films were also up for Best Picture, and Clint received a Best Picture nomination for American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper.
