Patrick Mahomes has been full of praise for the "down-to-earth" superstar Taylor Swift, who he's gotten to know well during her fast-paced romance with his teammate Travis Kelce.

The three-time Super Bowl champion spoke about the unexpected delights of finding himself amid the sphere of one of the most famous people globally in the unforgettable 2023 season. On the pitch, the Kansas City Chiefs made another mark on history books by conquering the San Francisco 49ers, earning a back-to-back Super Bowl triumph.

True to form since her sensational debut at Arrowhead in September, Swift graced the Allegiant Stadium stands to support her partner as he charged towards victory. Together with Brittany Mahomes, the "Anti Hero" chart-topper watched intently on Feb.11 as their partners dominated on American football's grandest stage.

Now, the Chiefs' leading playmaker, Mahomes, reflected on mingling with Swift due to his friendship with teammate Kelce in an interview with TIME. The 28 year old football figure reminisced about the recent season saying, "I've met a lot of famous people now in my life."

"Taylor's probably the most down-to-earth person that's been on that stage for that long. She's never not working. Even when she's taking her downtime, she's working on something. Shooting a music video or singing a song or writing a song."

"You can see it by how she talks. Even when she's talking about football, when she's learning it, you can see her business mind putting it together," Mahomes revealed, shedding light on Taylor Swift's analytical approach to understanding the game. "It's almost like she's trying to become a coach. 'Why can't you try this, this, and this? ' She's asking the right questions."

Patrick Mahomes also shared his thoughts on the unexpected boost in popularity the Kansas City Chiefs have experienced thanks to Swift's influence, noting the team's fanbase has expanded significantly. "We went from a nationwide team that was kind of global to a full global worldwide team," he said, acknowledging the power of the "Swifties" and adding, "That came from Taylor's fanbase."

Mahomes further commented on embracing the heightened attention: "We just embraced it...We like having that visibility. At the end of the day, football has always been this bruising sport. We want to make it fun, where kids grow up and play football and show their personality and be who they are. This year really magnified that."

Travis Kelce, the "Cruel Summer" singer's beau, has also spoken about how his relationship with Swift has catapulted his fame even higher. In a conversation with Pat McAfee, he reflected on the experience, saying: "It's a beautiful thing isn't it? '".

"We're just two people in a relationship supporting each other and having fun with it. It's nothing more than that," he said, dismissing the scrutiny they face. "No matter how much the world wants to paint the picture and make us the enemy, we just have fun with it. We enjoy every single but of it."

Likewise, the tight end's brother, Jason Kelce, has noticed a shift in his sibling's life since he began dating the chart-topper. He told Shaquille O'Neal on his podcast: "We've always been big in the football world, Travis especially. The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that's a whole different level. It's a new demographic that wasn't there before."
