The Kardashian-Jenners are still reportedly "haunted" following the death of OJ Simpson after their former friend's infamous murder trial.

The families were friends for years, raising their kids together throughout the 80s and 90s, with Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner becoming the best of friends with OJ and his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson before her death all the way back in 1994.

After spending so much time together, going on joint family holidays and living in and out of each other's homes, it's no surprise that Simpson's infamous murder trial affected them. "It tore my family apart," Kim Kardashian recalled back in 2020.

The SKIMS founder insists her mum Kris "believed" OJ killed his ex-wife. "Then we'd go to my dad's house, and it was a whole other situation there." Robert Kardashian Sr represented Simpson during his murder trial, acting as an advisor on his legal team.

OJ was found not guilty, with the verdict apparently casting "a pall of fear and sadness over the entire family". A former family friend has now broken their silence following Simpson's death aged 76 earlier this month, after a battle with prostate cancer.

The ex-pal of the Kardashian-Jenners claims the "threat" of OJ "was something that they dealt with daily". Years after Nicole's death, Kim was reportedly approached by a news outlet to speak about her "uncle OJ", the insider tells Us Weekly she 'reluctantly agreed', but word somehow reached Simpson, who was in jail until 2017 after being convicted on charges of armed robbery for stealing sports memorabilia back in 2008.

"OJ had called her from prison, leaving a simple but menacing voice mail. It said, 'Kim, it's Uncle OJ Hope you're doing well. I'll call you soon'," claims the source. "His tone was neutral but firm — the edge was there. It was a warning, and Kim was terrified."

After OJ's trial, he reportedly 'kept tabs on everyone' speaking to the press and "didn't miss a story". Everyone around him was reportedly "afraid of incurring his wrath", but with Simpson's passing, the Kardashians are still thought to be affected by the past.

"The loss of Nicole [has] never [been] far away," said the insider, claiming pictures of Nicole and the children she shared with Simpson were on the walls of matriarch Kris' office for years. "The family is still haunted by the horrible end she had faced. But they're free from OJ's threats now." The Mirror has approached the family for comment.
