RADIO 1 star Mollie King has swapped her mic for a bike to cycle across England in aid of Comic Relief.

The challenge kicked off on Monday, March 11, 2024, during the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James.

Before the route began, The Saturdays singer said she didn't hesitate when asked to do the challenge: "It’s still really hard to talk about - I hate talking about him in the past tense. But when I was asked to do this, I thought I have to do it.
"I want to help people who are struggling, and that is exactly what Comic Relief does. They are amazing.
"They help people who are homeless, struggling with poverty and struggling with bereavement - amongst so many other things."
Where is Mollie King cycling for her Pedal Power challenge and where does it finish?
Mollie began her mammoth journey from the home of Radio 1 in London to her late father’s hometown of Hull.
The challenge has already seen her pedal through the streets of Towcester, Burton-upon-Trent, before heading to Manchester and Leeds.
She set off from the Northamptonshire town on day two of her charity fundraiser, before cycling another 11 hours.
On day three, she made her way up to Manchester but admitted that she was struggling.
On day four, Mollie conquered the tough The Pennines, and ended her day in Leeds.
Her five-day challenge is set to finish TODAY (March 15) - which is Red Nose Day - and she will cross the finish line in Hull.

During the challenge, her fellow Radio 1 and Radio 2 presenters have offered the brave star lots of on-air support, keeping her motivated with messages from their listeners.
Pop star Craig David, who also hosts a show on Radio 2, told the songwriter to think of her late dad Stephen, saying: "Be in the moment enough to be conscious and aware of moments, that is Steve saying he is with you on the way.”

On March 15, 2024, Mollie has raised a massive £1M so far for Comic Relief.

Previously speaking about her experience, Mollie told Radio 1 host Greg James that she feared she wouldn't make it.
She said: "It's tough, it's really tough. I'm drained.
"I feel like I haven't had any kind of recovery since getting off the bike.
"My muscles are just like, 'oh we're doing this again?' It's pretty brutal.
"I think at the start there was so much excitement and adrenaline that kept me going and now I'm drained.
"It feels like every push of that pedal feels like more of a struggle."
Mollie could be heard sobbing into her microphone on the radio and continued: "Salford. The thought of getting there tonight, is that going to happen? It's just so tiring, it's so hard."

Who is Radio 1 star Mollie King?
Mollie, born June 4, 1987, is an English pop singer, songwriter and radio presenter.
Prior to entering the world of radio, Mollie was a member of the girl group The Saturdays, alongside fellow bandmates Una Healy, Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, and Vanessa White.
Their best-known songs include Ego, Issues and their cover of Just Can't Get Enough.
However, after seven years in action and four tours, plus their own show called Chasing The Saturdays, the band went on a permanent hiatus in 2014.
Since then, Mollie has turned her hand to presenting and is known for hosting on This Morning and Radio 1.
In addition to career success, Mollie has also been lucky in love with partner Stuart Broad, with whom she shares daughter Anabella with.
Who was Mollie King's dad?
Mollie’s late dad Stephen, passed away in 2022, just days after she became a mum.
He was tragically diagnosed with a brain tumour during her pregnancy.
At the time of his passing, the star posted a series of snaps of her and her dad to her Instagram as she revealed the devastating news.
She captioned the images: "Heartbroken beyond words. In August, my family’s world was shattered when my Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
"Last week, we had to face the day we hoped would never come and say goodbye.
"Dad, we love you with all our hearts and we will miss you every single day.
"You have been our hero and it’s impossible to think of our lives without you."
She then went on to reveal that her dad met her baby daughter Annabella.
