A family have paid an emotional tribute to "the most caring little boy" after he was killed in a car crash last weekend.

The victim, who has been named as Teddy Hickman, was in the rear seat of a Ford Focus when it collided with a motorcycle in Oxfordshire on Sunday ( April 14 ). Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident but despite their best efforts, the five year old was pronounced dead on the B4011 in Blackthorn, near Bicester, at around 2pm.

The KTM biker, aged in his 40s, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries. The female driver of the Ford Focus, aged in her 30s, and the other passenger, a nine-year-old child, were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Now, Teddy's family have released a tribute through Thames Valley Police following the tragedy. In a statement, they said: "Teddy was the light of our lives and our entire world. He was the most beautiful little boy inside and out with the cheekiest smile. He was funny, loved to play tricks and so very clever.

“Teddy had the kindest soul, the most caring little boy who we will forever be proud of, the greatest privilege of our lives. He was loved by so many and brought immense joy to all our lives from the day he was born. We would ask for time and privacy to grieve the immeasurable loss of our little boy.” Thames Valley Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Lead investigator Phil Hanham of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, based at Bicester, earlier said: “Very sadly, as a result of this collision, a child has died of his injuries. His family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers and the thoughts of all of us at Thames Valley Police are with them at this extremely upsetting time. I would like to appeal to anybody who witnessed this collision to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
