The victims of the heinous shooting that rocked a community in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, killing three and severely injuring a fourth, have been identified as the police have finally apprehend suspect Andre Gordon after he barricaded himself inside a home with hostages.

The victims were named as his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, his 13-year-old sister, Kera, 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, who was the mother of his two children, and Daniel's mother, who was assaulted when he struck her with he butt of his AR-15-style assault rifle, according to Bucks County District Attorney Jen Schorn, who spoke at a press conference on Saturday afternoon.

Alleged gunman Gordon, 26, entered a home on Viewpoint Lane in Levittown, Pennsylvania, a town just 26 miles northeast of Philadelphia along the New Jersey border, across the river from Trenton, at approximately 8.52am where he shot and killed his 52-year-old step-mum Karen and his 13-year-old sister Kera while three other family members hid.

At 9.13am, Gordon made his way to the Dollar General on Bristol Pike in Morrisville, where he stole a gray Honda CRV and drove it to a home on the 100 block of Miller Street in Trenton, a home the homeless man also reportedly has ties to. There, he took several hostages and barricaded himself in just before 12.30pm as the police entered a standoff with him. He was arrested five hours later at 5.30pm.

Local station FOX 29 reported that some of the residents of the home — though it's unclear if they were among the hostages — were rescued by the authorities, who used ladders to access the second floor of the duplex and grabbed them out of the windows.

Gordon committed the murders using an AR-15-style assault rifle he had purchased, according to the authorities, who suspect he might have other weapons.

At 2.29pm, local reporter Madeleine Wright of CBS, who was on the scene of the barricade and hostage situation, reported that several were walked out the door, including a child.

The shootings on Saturday morning led to the cancellation of the much-anticipated St. Patrick's Day Parade in Bucks County, which was to be hosted in Levittown this year. Residents were on lockdown until 12.25pm, asked to stay away from windows and take shelter inside until the authorities deemed it safe or found Gordon.

Gordon was described as a Black man standing at 6 foot 1 inch tall, with a thin build and last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. The Middletown Township Police Department, a nearby municipality, wrote on Facebook: "This is a fluid situation and we are asking the community to take some precautions. Do NOT travel to Falls Township until further notice. If you live in areas that border Falls, you should shelter in place until further notice."

Sesame Place, a nearby theme park based on the children's show Sesame Street, was also shuttered for a while, with the park writing on Instagram via a story: "Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our guests and ambassadors, Sesame Place Philadelphia is currently closed due to emergency activity in the area. We will provide additional updates when available. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Several local politicians weighed in on the tragedy, with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro writing on X, formerly known as Twitter: "I’ve been briefed on the developing incident in Falls Township, Bucks County and directed @PAStatePolice to coordinate with our law enforcement partners and provide whatever support is needed on the ground. For those in the area, please continue to shelter in place and listen to law enforcement’s direction."

Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, who serves the region in Congress, also released a statement on X, writing: "There is an active shooter alert in Falls Township — we are monitoring a carjacking and a shooting in two sections of Falls Township. I’m in touch with law enforcement officials as they pursue the suspect. More information to follow - please be alert of your surroundings and stay safe."
