Timothée Chalamet was the spitting image of Bob Dylan as he stepped out on the set of the legendary singer-songwriter’s upcoming biopic.
The 28-year-old Beautiful Boy star embodied the iconic musician as he was spotted carrying a guitar while filming in New York on Sunday. Keeping it casual in baggy blue jeans, a tartan shirt and a khaki jacket, Timothée opted for scuffed brown leather boots and finished off the Bob Dylan-esque look with a gambler hat, fingerless gloves, and a mustard scarf.
The French-American actor has been cast to play the legendary musician in A Complete Unknown - the biopic which will focus on the folk singer’s controversial decision to go electric in 1965. Although Timothée - who is currently dating Kylie Jenner - learned to play guitar for his role in Call Me By Your Name, he has been taking more lessons since landing the role.

He said: “I've basically been working with his entire Elvis team for my Dylan prep.”

The star - who recently wowed fans with his incredible vocal range in Wonka - added that Austin’s incredible performance made him realise he needed to step it up a notch. He gushed: “I just saw the way he committed to it all - and realised I needed to step it up.”
Timothée’s role has been years in the works. In 2022 he told Variety that he hasn’t “stopped preparing” since he landed what he called “one of the greatest gifts” of his career. The New York native described: “It's been a wonderful experience getting to dive into that world.”

The highly anticipated film is directed by James Mangold, who is known for his work on the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line. Alongside Timothée, Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, Narcos actor Boyd Holbrook, and Maleficient actress Elle Fanning will feature in the biopic as well as Monica Barbaro, and PJ Bryne.

Fans are very excited for the film (Michael Ochs Archives)Back in July, Timothée was seen working on the film with two coaches - movement coach Polly Bennett and dialect coach Tim Monich. Polly previously worked with Austin Butler in Elvis and with Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody and in No Time To Die.
Tim recently worked with the cast of Killers of the Flower Moon, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. It's thought the two coaches will be helping Timothée perfect Bob Dylan's unique singing voice and way of speaking, as well as his movement.
