Motorola's newest 2024 launch seems to be giving Google's Pixel 8 Pro a run for its money, with its 50 Edge Pro device. An AI-fulled device with its motion capture, 3x telephoto lens camera and a punchy TurboPower charging it's easy to see why this may just be the next best budget phone, and we've found one way to get it a lot cheaper.
Motorola has added three new handsets to the mix in its brand new Edge 50 Series, that includes the Edge 50 Ultra, Edge 50 Pro and the Edge 50 Fusion, all offering something a little bit different. It's the budget-friendly Motorola Edge 50 Pro that's caught our eye, and you can get it for just £24 a month, as well as a pair of the brand's AirPod-rivalling wireless earphones for free.
It's all thanks to a deal from Mobiles.co.uk, offering the handset from £24 a month, just days after it came on sale in the UK. As Vodafone offer eager UK fans the handset from £36 a month, this iD Mobile plan works is £279 cheaper... and comes packed with a hefty monthly data amount.

Pub delivers five-word response to critics of its 'slow' carvery serviceAt £24.99, and an initial £9 upfront fee, and you'll be fixed into a set 24-month plan for the 512GB handset and a monthly data allowance of 500GB using the iD Mobile network - this also comes with unlimited UK text and calls. Not to mention a £129 pair of Moto Buds+ is thrown in for free.
Remarkably, across the contract you'll pay just £9.75 more than it would cost to buy the phone outright... so, yes you'll get all of that monthly data for less than a tenner. Vodafone's option to split the cost with its contract works out at a much pricier £864 in total, across the same 24-month period, and that price is set with a much smaller 3GB of monthly data .... not to mention a £30 upfront fee.
Of course, the stellar money-saving is one reason why we'd urge new phone shoppers to look at the Mobiles.co.uk Motorola Edge 50 Pro deal, but price isn't the only perk going for it as it's backed by a host of expert-favoured features.
Technology Editor Henry Burrell at The Express also shared how Motorola's three new editions could compete with rival AI models. He said: "Motorola has also joined those companies in hopping aboard the AI hype train, saying that its new Moto AI built into the Edge 50 series “works its magic behind the scenes to elevate every interaction by empowering users to intuitively create content, personalise their device, obtain the information they seek, and accomplish more in less time.”
While tech experts at Tom's Guide called the Edge 50 handsets 'on par with the likes of Google's Pixel 8 Pro and the OnePlus 12' devices. As they said the Edge 50 Pro's 'display size, quality, and AI-enhanced creative features may prove more appealing' than other rivals.
