MAX George left fans worried after posting and deleting a selfie sporting a bruised and swollen eye.

The Wanted singer, 35, made a football reference to a 'punch in the face' with his caption before getting rid of the image.

He wrote: "How it feels to be a city fan. Tough week. So proud of our boys. What character."

In the photo his eye was swollen and also taped together by gauze strips, suggesting it had been cut.

This week Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola complained that his team have been up against unacceptable playing conditions, comparing the experience to 'a punch in the face'.

It's not the first time the pop star has showed off his injuries on social media.

Max previously shared that he had a nasty accident that could have blinded him in 2021.

He was on holiday with his partner Stacey Giggs when he went diving and scraped his face against a rock at the bottom of the sea.

He posted a photo of his scratched and bloodied eye on Instagram, joking about the incident.

But this time fans will no doubt be worried, as it comes off the back of Max the singer pulling out from a play he was meant to star in last minute.

Max was due to appear in The Syndicate opposite Brooke Vincent when it kicked off this month but said he was unable to because of "personal reasons".

He added: "It’s gonna be a an amazing show and I wish Gaynor and all the cast all the luck in the world.

"I’ll be there to cheer you on once I’m feeling better."
