Love Island's Kaz reveals 'terrifying' ordeal in Dubai jail after drugs arrest

LOVE Island star Kaz Crossley was released from a hell-hole jail last night and said: “It was the most terrifying experience of my life.”

Kaz, 28, told pals she had been locked up with 30 women for days in the United Arab Emirates.

She was freed without charge after being quizzed over an old video of her snorting a substance.

The shaken reality TV star told a mate how she was locked up in 30C heat — and left for days, confused and scared.

She was last night set to fly out out of the United Arab Emirates as her cell nightmare finally ended.

Kaz later posted an emotional message to fans thanking them for their messages of support through her ordeal.

The Sun revealed yesterday how she had been detained at Abu Dhabi airport on Monday on suspicion of drug offences, after stopping off during a flight to Thailand.

She was instantly hauled off to be quizzed by Dubai cops as part of an probe into a two-year old video.

The footage, revealed by The Sun on Sunday, showed her in an orange dress snorting a suspicious white substance at a party in Dubai.

But as UAE authorities didn’t have a translator, she was left clueless about why she was being held — and was only allowed to send out one monitored email to a pal to tell loved ones she had been detained.

Kaz told a friend: “They didn’t get me a lawyer or a proper translator. I couldn’t even have a shower.

“I was locked up with 30 other women, and had no idea why I was there for days - nobody would help me. It was the most terrifying experience of my life.”

The pal added: “She’s very shaken up, the very worst thoughts were going through her mind.

“You see stories of Brits being banged up for years and years in these countries over drugs issues.

“She didn’t have drugs, but she had been associated with someone else police are looking into from a previous trip, and that’s why they arrested her.”

Eventually Kaz was able to sit down with police and fully assist with their investigation.

She was then released without charge.

The pal continued: “She’s incredibly relieved. She couldn’t wait to get to an airport and get away.

“It’s an experience it will live with her forever.”

Cops in Dubai confirmed to The Sun that Kaz was nicked in Abu Dhabi for an alleged drugs offence.

If charged and found guilty show could have faced at least three months in jail and a £5,000 fine.

The friend added: “Basically she was left alone — her management team were trying to get her some support but at first the Foreign Office was told she wasn’t there.

“Eventually officials seemed to find her and explained a bit of what was going on.”

Fashion and beauty influencer Kaz was too emotional to talk when The Sun approached her at an Abu Dhabi police station yesterday.

Her name was flagged up on arrival in the UAE.

From the airport she was taken Dubai police HQ’s Criminal Investigation Department.

Then she was transferred to the Deportation of Violators Section at Dubai International Airport at 4pm on Thursday, where she was held in another cell before a flight away.

The grim building has 30ft high walls with rusty barbed wire curled across the top. It is surrounded by 20ft green fencing with more barbed wire.

One woman was seen in floods of tears outside the building while others went to visit their loved ones.

Kaz was returned to Abu Dhabi police station yesterday to complete paperwork and face final questions.

She was wearing a black T-shirt with Watthana - the name of a club she supports which teaches kids combat sport Muay Thai — with pink trousers and white trainers.

The reality star, who had her hair in a bun, clutched a see-through bag with an iPhone inside and was escorted by two guards.

Police said they would transport Kaz to the airport where she would then be free to leave the country.

They confirmed she was not guilty of any offence.

Kaz came third on ITV2’s Love Island in 2018 and is set to feature on Channel 5’s The Challenge.

She spent much of last year in Thailand doing voluntary work.

It is believed she was heading out to aid a Thai charity when she was picked up.
