A STAY-AT-HOME mum has revealed how her baby crying in the night led her to the most life-changing discovery.

Unable to go back to sleep after settling the tot, she decided to check her phone - only to find she had scooped an eye-watering £1.1 million in the lottery.

The mum, who chose to remain anonymous, described the situation as “absolutely wackadoodle”.

“The word ‘lucky’ took on a whole new meaning,” she said.

And it’s even more crazy considering she scooped the fortune using a very basic number selection method.

She played the lottery with her childrens’ birthdays.

People often believe that using meaningful dates, such as birthdays, can increase their chances of winning the lottery because they feel a connection to those numbers.

The woman has now been dubbed “Lucky Mum” and even had the new name emblazoned on her huge winnings check.

“My baby woke up crying and after tucking them back into bed, I had trouble falling back asleep,” she recalled.

“So to pass the time, I opened the lottery app on my phone… and I couldn’t believe it when it showed that I had just won $1.4 million (£1.1 million)!”

“Absolutely wackadoodle.”

She matched all five numbers on March 6, which were six, eight, 16, 17 and 20.

“I’ve played Lucky Day Lotto here and there, and when I do, I use my kids’ birthdays as my lucky numbers,” Lucky Mum continued.

“I have the best job in the world: I’m a stay-at-home mum and I already feel very lucky and blessed for where I’m at in life.

“But now, the word ‘lucky’ took on a whole new meaning.”

Her husband was equally overjoyed by the bumper win.

“After I won, I asked my husband, ‘do you want to know which kid’s birthday helped us win the jackpot?’,” she laughed.

Lucky Day Lotto is an Illinois, US-only game with twice daily drawings in the morning and evening.

In the UK, the National Lottery offers Lotto, EuroMillions, Thunderball, Set For Life and other smaller games.

Different draws are typically held on specific days of the week, depending on the game.

For example, the Lotto draw takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while EuroMillions draws occur on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Thunderball draws are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, while Set For Life draws every Monday and Thursday at 8pm.
