A PAVING expert has shared a common household item that removes moss from patios.
The best part, he added, is how easy the trick is, with no need for scrubbing.
Steven Bell, managing director at Paving Shopper, urged homeowners to quickly address moss growing on their paths and roads.
Bell explained that moss thrives in shaded and moist areas with prolonged periods of rain.
While it may look harmless, moss can pose painful unforeseen dangers.

Laundry detergent, he revealed, is an effective no-brainer "miracle" that makes the task easy.
He simply pours a little of the cleaning liquid on moss areas instead of paying for expensive services and treatments.
"Laundry detergent is an affordable and efficient way to tackle moss," he said.
"The beauty of this approach is that it requires no scrubbing; nature does the heavy lifting with the help of rainfall.”

"Following the discoloration and death of the moss, a rinse with warm water and a sweep with a stiff brush will clear the area."
For Bell, the method has proved to have a lasting impact that saves him time and money.
"This approach is not only wallet-friendly but also gentle on the paving materials. Moreover, it’s a safe method for the surrounding garden areas," he said.
"I’ve personally applied biodegradable washing powder on a large area afflicted with moss, sprinkled it across, and left it.
"Two years on, and the moss has yet to make a return."
