BBC Morning Live star Dr. Xand and has welcomed a baby boy and shared his unique name.
The TV presenter and doctor, full name Alexander van Tulleken, shared the happy news alongside his wife Dolly. Posting on the show's official Instagram account, a message read: "Congratulations to Dr. Xand and his wife Dolly on the birth of their baby boy, with arguably the best name ever, Rex Patrick Anthony van Hoogenhouck-Tulleken. The Morning Live family has become even bigger and we can’t wait to meet him!"
Dr. Xand, 45, and Dolly were flooded with congratulatory messages as Dragon's Den star Sara Davies said: "Amazing news!!!" Great British Bake Off's Briony May Williams added: "Such wonderful news Congratulations." TV chef Anna Haugh commented: "Such amazing news. Congratulations guys xxxx."
A fan shared: "Lovely news this morning! Congratulations to the new family xx." Strictly Come Dancing's Neil Jones added: "Amazing congratulations." Dr. Xand is known for presenting CBBC series Operation Ouch with his identical twin brother Chris. He has also presented Channel 4's How to Lose Weight Well.
The TV star has regularly offered up his own body for science experimentation on the diet show. He has hosted BBC Horizon episodes Sugar vs Fat as well as Is Binge Drinking Really That Bad?. Dr. Xand started appearing regularly on BBC Morning Live in July last year where he offers a variety of medical advice. He also presents the Made of Stronger Stuff podcast on BBC Sounds.

Dr. Xand welcomed his little boy with wife DollyDr. Xand married doctor Dolly Theis, who is a visiting researcher at MRC Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge and former Conservative Party candidate for Vauxhall. He has a son named Julian from a previous relationship. Last year Dr. Xand appeared on he BBC genealogy programme Who Do You Think You Are?, where he learned he is a descendant from Jan van Hoogenhouck Tulleken.
The Dutch rear-admiral was later raised to the title of Jonkheer, which is the equivalent of a Squire. It is where Dr. Xand gets the van Tulleken title from. The news of Dr. Xand's new arrival was shared on BBC Morning Live as well, as host Helen Skelton told viewers: "We've got to jump in as we know we like to start the day with happy happy news. If you were watching yesterday you might have noticed there was an absentee at our breakfast bar.
"Often on a Monday we are joined by Dr Xand he wasn't here for a very good reason, he was alongside his lovely wife Dolly as they welcomed their son Rex Patrick Anthony van Hoogenhouck-Tulleken. Baby Rex is here!" Co-star Gethin Jones added: "Named after his grandfathers. All doing really really well. Xand's smile beaming there isn't it wonderful." Helen continued: "I know you will join us all in wishing them the very best, congratulations Dolly, Xand and baby Rex."
Dr. Xand announced his engagement to Dolly in 2022 and they wed in May last year. Revealing how he popped the question, Dr. Xand said: "We had the most wonderful time. I proposed to my now-betrothed, Dolly, and we experienced pure magic. We rode a tandem bicycle all over London, feeling like characters in a Richard Curtis movie."
Speaking about being a parent to The Guardian in 2021, he said of his son Julian: "He’s the best and most significant thing that has ever happened to me. He was also very much an unexpected surprise. I had a short relationship with his mum; we parted ways on great terms. Then one day out of the blue I got a call from North Korea, where she was working. She was pregnant. I was based in England, and she lived in Canada." Julian lives in Canada with his mum, while Dr Xand moved back to London after the first 10 years of his son's life.
