AN iconic Channel 4 competition series is making its return to viewers’ screens in just one week’s time.

Come Dine With Me: The Professionals launched in 2022 as a spin off to long-running series Come Dine With Me.

The Professionals format sees local restaurants going head-to-head, rather than amateur individual cooks as in the original show.

Viewers will watch as each owner will take turns hosting their rivals with a three-course dinner.

Just like the regular version, they'll then be scored at the end of the evening.

The overall winner will walk away with a cash prize and the champion title.

Fans of The Professionals iteration can look forward to the next edition beginning on Monday, May 6 at 5pm.

Viewers saw a variety of locations featured when Come Dine With Me: The Professionals was on in 2022, including Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle and Bristol.

The original Come Dine With Me began in 2005 and has aired other spin-off formats including Couples Come Dine With Me and Celebrity Come Dine With Me.

Previously, some viewers have expressed not enjoying The Professionals as much due to the contestants' skill in the kitchen.

One tweeted: "'Come Dine with Me: The Professionals!?' Where’s the fun in that? No. Just no. #ComeDineWithMe."

Another added: "When are they going back to the old #comedinewithme with the singletons, not keen on this new professional one."
