Next time you're jetting off to sunny Spain - please don't follow any of these grimy habits...

Flying really does bring out the worst in people - from the annoying passenger who won't stop snoring, to the person who kicks off because they can't smoke their cigarettes on board (yes, that actually happened). Even if you think you can maintain a level of social etiquette whilst on board, a flight attendant has listed some unusual habits she always witnesses.

Cher, who has been working in the air for more than five years, has racked up an impressive 19,600 followers on TikTok from dishing cabin crew secrets. In a recent video, the woman, from Texas, shared some bizarre anecdotes.

"At least once a week I will see someone go into the bathroom without shoes on, sometimes with socks which to me is worse than going barefoot," Cher said. "Now you have soggy pee-covered socks that you're wearing for how many hours you're on the plane - that's disturbing."

Other unusual habits the flight attendant has noticed include passengers 'intentionally' taking selfies with her in the background, people trying to help themselves to drinks in the trolley, and ignoring them if staff give out compliments. "People will come in the galley, will open the cart and try to fix themselves a drink. What are you doing?" she added.

"'I've had somebody come and pick up my half-drunk water, take a nice little sip of it, and put it back for me to drink after them later." Cher also knew a member of staff who had half of their sandwich taken by a passenger who snuck into the galley.

Hundreds of shocked viewers flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many in utter disbelief at the toilet habit. "The no shoes bathroom thing is crazy," one person wrote. "It happened to me the last time I flew and I was like 'Great, I'm sat next to a serial killer'."

Another agreed, commenting: "Not wearing shoes on planes grosses me out so much." A third added: "Socks in the bathroom will haunt me forever." While a fourth joked: "I like it when people go into the lav with socks on. They soak up all the 'water' on the floor and it's dry for me when I go in with my shoes on. SO Thoughtful."
