Luis Diaz has emerged as a priority target for Paris Saint-Germain as the French giants plan for life without Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe, 25, is in the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes and expected to leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season. Long-term suitors Real Madrid are believed to have finally got their man, although this has not yet been formally confirmed.
After fending off transfer interest in their prized forward in recent years, PSG's focus has now turned to reshaping their squad for the 2024/25 campaign and beyond - and the Ligue 1 champions have set their sights on of the Premier League's top forwards to replace Diaz.
According to Foot Mercato, PSG will continue to shun star names and Diaz, who has been in fine form since joining Liverpool in January 2022, ticks a lot of boxes for the club hierarchy.
Furthermore, it's outlined that the player's agent, Raul Pais Da Costa, has recently been in contact with PSG's former sporting director Antero Henrique. He remains involved in PSG's recruitment activity in some capacity and has a close relationship with Da Costa.

While PSG may be keen on acquiring Diaz to help fill the void left by Mbappe, it's outlined that Liverpool would not be receptive to offers for the Colombia international in the summer, nor would PSG themselves be willing to spend over the odds on the 27-year-old.
Even if Liverpool's stance were to soften in the coming months, doing a deal would not be straightforward given the structural changes which are due to take place at Anfield over the summer.

The former Monaco striker was close to joining the Spanish giants in the summer of 2024 before a late change of heart saw him recommit to PSG. This time, however, Mbappe is expected to press ahead with a dream switch to the Bernabeu, with Los Blancos viewing the deal as a huge coup.
