The Apprentice winner Marnie Swindells has dismissed the suggestion that she's in competition with another former candidate amid an update about her own business.

The entrepreneur, now 29, won last year's series of the long-running BBC show. It was announced that she had secured a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar, now 77, for her boxing gym, Bronx Boxing Club, located in London. Marnie celebrated the expansion of the site in Camberwell on Wednesday. The launch event earlier this week, which had been held in association with Press Box PR and Prime Time Lager, was attended by various other celebrities.

Among the guests in attendance was Rachel Woolford, 28, who was announced as the winner of the latest series of The Apprentice just last week. Rachel won a £250,000 investment in her boutique chain of gyms, with her currently having North Studio sites located in Leeds and Harrogate. It has been teased that despite fears that Marnie and Rachel would be in competition, the former has insisted that isn't the case and even hinted at a potential collaboration in the future. She spoke about Rachel following the recent event.

Marnie told the Sun that it was "so lovely" to have been supported by other former candidates from the BBC show at the launch event this week. She teased that those who have been through the process are "like a little club". She further commented: "Lord Sugar invested in another gym this year, and I only actually met Rachel at my launch party last night, and she is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. I don't see her as a competition; our gyms are entirely different and in different parts of the country."

It was added in the interview that Marnie has reached out with a "message of support" and let Rachel know that they are "in this together". She then concluded: "Who knows maybe a collaboration could even be on the cards."

They weren't the only former candidates at the event earlier this week. Phil Turner, Tre Lowe, Virdi Mazaria and Oliver Medforth, who competed in the latest series, were also spotted in attendance. Other guests included Married at First Sight UK stars Amy Christophers and Peggy Rose.

Discussing the expansion at her gym in a press release about the event, Marnie commented: "It's fantastic to finally be able to complete the renovation, which has involved adding a whole new level to the gym to provide state-of-the-art facilities to all the members and the community."

She continued: "We've added a fully equipped weight room, sauna, disabled-access facilities and a cafe - and I really hope this can become a valuable part of the community, and an opportunity for all to access boxing and fitness, along with the health benefits taking park gives."

Marnie concluded: "I'm really excited to see the gym thriving, it fills me with so much happiness to see all the support, especially from The Apprentice crew. Here's to the future for Bronx Gym and bigger and better things to come."
