Singer Olly Murs has shared a new insight into his and Caroline Flack's relationship, which he's now described as "interesting".
The 39-year old-star, who has recently become a father for the first time with his wife Amelia, also spoke about late Love Island host Caroline "visiting him in his dreams" and said he finds it "lovely" when those days occur. The pair had an incredibly close bond that was forged during their time presenting the ITV music talent show, which launched his career back in 2009.
Sadly, Caroline's mental health grew steadily worse over time, which resulted in her suicide in 2020. Speaking to the Big Issue, Olly admitted: "She was a huge part of my life and career. Special person, special friend. We had an interesting relationship, but it was great. And it’s mad because people say they visit you in your dreams."
He added: "Caz does that quite frequently actually. It’s lovely when people that pass away do that. My mate said to me once years ago that his mum visited him in his dream. I found it a bit odd when he said it. He said 'It felt really real, and I don’t know what to make of it, whether it’s just a subconscious thing, whatever'. Since Caroline passed, I’ve had those moments. It’s the most surreal moment but it’s lovely when them days happen. I’d love to see Caz again and chat to her. That’d be lovely."
Olly, who is currently on tour with Take That, also confessed that he would love to relive the moment he auditioned for X Factor as it was an "iconic time" in his life. Since then, the star who went on to tour the world, also landed a role on The Voice as a mentor working alongside Will.I.Am, Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson. But no doubt his biggest achievement was the birth of his daughter Madison. Olly announced the news to his fans in a social media post that read: "Our mini Murs has arrived." Sharing a cute photo of both him and his wife holding hands as they walked out of the hospital, carrying their newborn daughter, he captioned the snap: "Madison we love you so much already x."
