IT has been revealed that Princess Eugenie's sons don't have royal titles - but Princess Beatrice's daughter does.

It comes after Princess Eugenie celebrated her 34th birthday on Saturday, a day spent with her husband and two young sons.

As the Royal took to Instagram, she shared an adorable new picture with her son Ernest George Ronnie, as she penned: “The best gift of all are my boys.. so on this birthday I'm cherishing family and loved ones.”

Eugenie is also mother to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank - both children she shares with her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

And it may come as a surprise to many, but it turns out that Princess Eugenie's sons don’t have royal titles.

In the UK, there are several specific rules that explain which members of the Royal Family are entitled to hold a prince or princess title.

Many of these rules date from the 1917 Letters Patent, where he wrote that all the children of the sovereign, the male-line grandchildren and the Prince of Wales’s eldest son were all allowed to hold a princely title.

While Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie both have titles as they are male-line granddaughters of Queen Elizabeth II, their children are not entitled to become a prince or princess of the United Kingdom.

However, this is not to say that they aren't eligible to hold other styles in other countries.

Both of the York princesses have children - Princess Eugenie's first son, August, was born on February 9, 2021 and second son, Ernest, arrived on May 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice's daughter, Sienna, was welcomed into the world on September 18, 2022.

While August and Ernest have no royal titles of their own, Sienna, whose father is Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, founder of a property consultancy firm called Banda, does have an official style thanks to her dad’s aristocratic background.

Edoardo descends from Italian aristocracy — which means that Princess Beatrice became an Italian "Contessa" and "Nobile Donna," or noblewoman, after their July 2020 wedding.

The oldest son of Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, Edoardo will inherit his family's ancestral seat, the 18th-century Villa Mapelli Mozzi palace in northern Italy.

As well as this, this also means his children also inherit a count or countess title.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Edoardo's father, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, explained: “Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation.

“He is a count, his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.”

Writing in The Spectator ahead of the Platinum Jubilee weekend in 2022, Eugenie revealed what she wanted her eldest son to inherit from Queen Elizabeth II said: "I think of my grannie and what she has stood for, for so many people and for our family during these 70 years.

"I'd love Augie to have her patience, her calmness and her kindness, while always being able to laugh at himself and keep a twinkle in his eye."

Eugenie added: "Seventy years is really quite something, isn't it?

"The Jubilee stands as a testimony to a woman who has transcended time and has been that constant rock for so many when the world can feel so fragile."
