MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Marc Guehi, according to reports.

It's suggested that Crystal Palace are bracing to sell the centre-back, 23, this summer.

Guehi has two years remaining on his Palace contract and would cost more than £55million according to The Times.

That figure would eclipse their club-record sale of £50m, which they received for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in 2019.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United have scouted Guehi this season.

He underwent knee surgery in February in a bid to be fit for Euro 2024 and it remains to be seen whether he will play for Palace again before the end of this season.

United are prioritising bringing in a striker and a defender this summer.

Guehi is joined on a list of defenders fancied by United by Max Kilman, who is also being tracked by West Ham.

United have struggled with injuries in their defence this season with Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof both currently sidelined with injury.

Despite Arsenal having the strong defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba, they could still move for Guehi.

That depends on whether Jakub Kiwior leaves, according to the Times, who provides cover at both centre-back and left-back.

Guehi has won nine England caps, with his most recent one coming against North Macedonia in November last year.

He joined Palace for £18million from Chelsea in 2021, and The Blues do maintain the right to buy him back if they match a bid made from another club.

Spurs have shown interest in Marc Guehi in the past but have since signed Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin.

Palace would be reluctant to sell Guehi given they are already looking to bring in a new centre-back, but fear they will need to with only two years remaining on his contract.
