THE guesses came thick and fast tonight as The Masked Singer returned to screens tonight.
First up was Knitting - a pink a ball of wool skewered by two knitting needles.
Rita Ora, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross were quickly up on their feet as the warm ball of yarn belted out a pop anthem.
In her videotape, Knitting had a Lancastrian accent and hinted at a connection with the world of theatre.
They also walked past a magpie, the bird that is famously associated with Newcastle.
Masked Singer fans convinced they’ve already guessed who is behind Phoenix
The character described themselves as being like a "big warm hello and cuddle".
And she "promised not to string you along".
Former Blue Peter presenter Connie Huq was Jonathan Ross's guess, while Davina opted for Jane Horrocks and Rita went for Samantha Barks.
While fan guesses were varied, Girls Aloud star Cheryl's name cropped up time and time again.
Her bandmate Nicola Roberts previously appeared on the show and may have offered the Geordie stunner some advice.
Cheryl has valid links to the clues too, with her landing a role in West End show 2:22 A Ghost Story and her hometown being Newcastle.
