Gypsy Rose Blanchard split from her husband Ryan Scott Anderson just months after being released from prison.

The 32-year-old announced she had parted ways with Ryan after less than two years of marriage, and in an emotional post on Facebook, revealed the reason behind the surprise split. “People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou,” Gypsy wrote.

“I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am,” she cryptically added, hinting that they had divorced after growing apart. The breakup news comes just three months after she was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri after serving more than eight years of a 10-year sentence for plotting to murder her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, with then-boyfriend Nick Godejohn in 2015.

Gypsy and Ryan began dating in 2020, and the relationship between the special education teacher blossomed when they wrote to each other while Gypsy was in prison. They tied the knot in July 2022 at Missouri’s Chillicothe Correctional Center, and when she was released early in December last year, Gypsy spoke of her plans to remarry Ryan in a romantic ceremony outside prison.

“We do plan on having a reception/redo wedding with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that. I deserve that. He deserves that,” she told People. “Our prison wedding was just something to where we can make our vows to each other. It was something that meant something to us. And I think the party is kind of for everybody else and us, but mostly for everybody else.”

Gypsy hinted at marriage problems earlier this month when she deleted her public Instagram account, and has since only used social media on private accounts. She was granted parole in September, and was released three years early, and has since spoken about the huge changes in her life now she’s a free woman. “I’ve never lived with a man. I grew up with a mom, so I didn’t even grow up with a dad in the house. So, I’m like, ‘I don’t even know what it’s like to live with a man,” she shared.

Gypsy was bound to a wheelchair for more than two decades after being convinced she was suffering from a multitude of health issues by her mother. Dee Dee was believed to have suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which is a psychological disorder where parents falsely claim their child is ill and subject them to medical treatments in an attempt to gain attention.
