Jonathan Ross has kicked up a stink by revealing he often showers less than once per week.
The 63-year-old television host described himself and his wife, acclaimed Hollywood screenwriter Jane Goldman, 53, as being like “hamsters” who don’t care for frequent washing. Jonathan - who has been married to Jane since 1988 and shares three children with her - claims that if he doesn’t exert himself and end up sweating, then he won’t think to have a shower.
As a consequence, he can go for days without stepping under a stream of hot water to wash himself. But far from sounding embarrassed about his dirty lifestyle, the talk show host sounds pretty unmoved that others might find his habits unsettling.
Jonathan has even confessed that he didn’t even bother to wash for two weeks while on holiday and walking around in blistering heat as he thoughts taking a dip in a swimming pool would do the trick. His confessions have left some fans repulsed - with many questioning how others could stand to be anywhere near him.

I sometimes go at least a week without showering - at least. So does Jane sometimes. We're like a couple of hamsters in their own straw in that bed."

In a stomach churning example of bad personal hygiene, he added: "When we were on holiday - we have a place over in Florida - because it's sunny and I'm jumping in and out the swimming pool, I probably didn't shower properly for two weeks. And I had a smell under my right armpit, and I thought 'That's bad, I better get rid of that'.
"So I had a shower, it didn't go. Had another one, it didn't go. I'm not making this up. I had to shave the hair off my armpit to get rid of it. It was so ingrained. I just did the one. Why would you do two? The other one was still fresh. I favour one, so the right arm was doing all the work."
Then, taking conversation to near contrarian levels, Jonathan said that there are times he will take a shower - only as a precursor to having a bath. He explained: "The other extreme though is I sometimes shower before having a bath. That's the Japanese way... because you're lying in what's coming off your body so why would you bathe first and lie in the debris?"
After learning of Jonathan’s grim hygiene standards, many fans have taken to social media to slam the television personality. One repulsed fan hit out via X to write: “Nast - knows no bounds…” And another typed online: “Yuk. No wonder his TV show guests sit so far away from him.”
