This Morning's Michelle Elman gets 'signature' manicure after splitting from cheating fiancé the day he proposed as she quips 'when the nails last longer than the engagement'

This Morning life coach Michelle Elman feels more herself after reverting to her "signature" lilac nails, following her split from her cheating ex-fiancé.

The 30-year-old author and TV expert found out her partner of three years had cheated on her, making the grim discovery just 24 hours after he had proposed. The couple lived together for two years, after first meeting on a dating app. He was her first date after the pandemic, and until she was contacted by a follower, who recognised him on Michelle's social media, she was none-the-wiser, denying ever being given any red flags by her ex.

And after going public with the devastating news, she decided it was time to change her "engagement nails", to start moving on from what happened to her.

Sharing the snap on her Instagram Story, Michelle wrote: "Time to get rid of these engagement nails. Safe to say I will never be getting this colour ever again."

Still able to crack a joke, despite her heartache, the self-proclaimed "Queen of boundaries" quipped: "When the nails last longer than the engagement," with a laughing emoji. Showing off her new nails today, Michelle shared a photo of a pale lilac manicure, adding: "My signature is back. The shortcut to feeling the most me is this lilac on my nails."

Michelle spilled the beans after her ex did the dirty on her, taking to This Morning to discuss the shocking split, explaining how she was contacted by the woman her ex met on a dating site and spent the night with in a hotel.

Chatting with This Morning's Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Michelle explained: "He was with me when I got the first message saying, 'Is this person your fiance?' I thought it was a colleague, like this person knows you, and it took a while to figure out, my first reaction was shock.

"I was shaking and I kept saying please tell me first I don't want to find out from her. Then it was screenshots of the dating profile and his number, I believed her from the get go, but I needed evidence.

"She told me the hotel, and I said put that in your email, and it came up, then he admitted it. This was meant to be the best weekend of my life. I went to be with my sister for a week, I had a competition to see who could cry the loudest with my two year old niece. I won. I don't want his identity to come out, it's not a story about him it's a story about me and women who have been cheated on."

The life coach said there's no going back to her, especially after she told her dad the heartbreaking news. She added: "The lying is bigger than the cheating, and the nail in the coffin is 4am the next day I told my dad.

"You can't come back from that. Also because he asked my dad for his blessing in September, and you really can't come back from that. I don't judge any woman who wants to stay and work it out, but you need the people in your life to also like him."
